That'll be an 'Aye' then

On September 18 the people of Scotland will be asked to decide on the country's future: should we become an independent nation, or should we remain within the United Kingdom. I have absolutely no intention of entering into that political debate on this forum.

But something momentous with regards to that debate happened today - one Sunday newspaper nailed its colours (rightly or wrongly, depending on one's opinion) to the mast. With over four months to polling day.

Many organisations, including media outlets, have already given clues - sometimes none too subtle either - about their stance, but this is a bold move by the Sunday Herald. It is too early to say what the impact or repercussions of their decision will be, but many on both sides of the debate will watch with interest
