A field of buttercups.
We went to another National Trust property in Devon today called Knighthayes I therefore took hundreds of photos so today's choice was difficult.
I had to smile at some of the descriptions of the family who commissioned William Burgess to design this amazing house, The Heathcote Amorys'. At one point I read how, because he was such an amazing employer, 200 of his staff walked from Loughborough to Devon when he re-located his lace making factory. Now call me a cynic, but I suspect this was more to do with the lack of similar work in that area and I did wonder how such a philanthropist could allow his workforce to schlepp all that way on foot!
