Strange Stills 6 : What To Do With Leftovers

Day 124 of 365. Way back in time when I first got interested in photography I used to shoot my own still lifes with whatever I found round the house. I used to love doing this even if some of the results were a bit amateurish I still enjoyed the creativity of it.
I decided for my 200th entry to revisit this idea - also being inspired by an article in the British Journal of Photography about the images of Robin Maddock. For his new book he took just three items with him when he took photographs in the strong light of Los Angeles and San Francisco - a ping pong ball, a sheet of white paper and a carton of milk! The photographs he produced are wonderful, strange, surreal and confusing - and brilliantly creative.
This image features hedge cuttings, a firelighter box and some rather ancient monkey nuts! I'm going to try other strange combinations - I;m sure many won't work but I'll enjoy trying anyway!
