Invercoe Pano
A bit of a pano of what we looked out at on Friday. Taken from the waters' edge.
Home tomorrow after our first full week away in the van.
Although we've been on a couple of sites we have been "training" for Le Tour 2014 by trying to minimise our fresh water consumption and waste.
Our first few times away we were going through tons of water - a tank a day.
Washing up etc. in the van. We washed dishes etc. up at washing up areas this time and it has made a massive difference - a tank lasting three days.
The plan for the mountains is to use paper/disposable plates etc. to save the water and power of the leisure battery used by the water pump.
We have battered the gas using it twice daily for cooking but we are still on our first cylinder, despite getting a back-up second one on board.
I haven't mentioned the wildlife here yet - we have a grey seal which likes to muck about in the water out front. We also have loads of gulls and herons fishing all day.
We had a really "big bird" on Friday which buzzed us before screaming straight up the loch (Loch Leven) directly in line from us before banking to the north and disappearing.
I reckon it was about 100ft off the water surface and slightly higher than us so that when I watched it I was looking directly into the rear burner.
It's unfortunet that by the time you hear/feel the roar the plane is already halfway to Norway so grabbing a camera is a bit pointless by the time it registers.
