No one at home?
We went to Kirklinton Hall this morning. There were signs saying things like 'Parking', and 'Tickets' but at first no sign of anyone to pay. I think we had arrived a bit earlier than anyone was expected (although not before the opening hours advertised). After a few minutes the owner arrived from planting roses and told us about the history and architecture of the place - it has had a rather varied history.
When the key arrived to open the office we had a cup of tea and cake and bought two David Austin roses and tickets for a performance of 'Don Giovanni' at the end of the month.
Watch our Glyndbourne!
