Lucky number

Read a few news articles on the internet about folks getting married today: 7/7/07. Some saying it's because 7 is their lucky number. Why would people think that one number was lucky? What leads them to this conclusion.

Great day; no work. (result!) Pottered about. On the internet. In a few shops distributing my wealth. Bought a couple of books to read.
