Come on board with the double deckers

It's not very often you get to see a Red London double decker bus in Inverness but that's what we saw today.
After a big shop in the Coop we headed over the swing bridge intending to go along the canal but I spotted this Bus parked by the water. I jumped out of the car and started snapping away. I clocked another woman, dressed in black, taking photos from the bridge, another blipper I wondered. A s I got back into the car I heard the womans voice, 'Have you been following us ?' I turned to see a policewoman. 'NO !' came my anxious reply, were we in trouble ? 'oh' she continued ' It's just that several members of the British Transport Police are cycling from John O'Groats to Lands end to raise money for the Samaritans and the red bus is part of the support time and we're just waiting for them to arrive '.
The team of 8 started their journey yesterday and have done incredible well to reach this point already. They hope to do the whole journey in 9 days instead of the usual 12. Most people cycle the other way so that the prevailing wind helps. Here's a link to their page

We drove up to Craig Phadrig but did nt have time for a walk but there seemed to be a nice walk through the forest to an Iron Age fort.

We also spotted a 'wee croft shop' called Capability Browns which sells homemade bread, cakes, local honey when available and fresh fruit and veg. We will return on another day.

The shopping is now away and it's good to have food in the fridge and cupboards, probably wo nt last long though.
