Greywalls, East Lothian

The better weather was promised for the east coast, so KryptoMart and I headed out to have a short drive along what is now termed the 'Golf Coast' in East Lothian, stopping in at the beautiful Greywalls at Muirfield, Gullane.

Greywalls is an Edwardian country house, built in 1901 for Alfred Lyttelton, to designs by Sir Edwin Lutyens with the garden designed by Gertrude Jekyll. It has been run as a hotel since 1948. Greywalls is protected as a category A listed building, and the grounds are included on the Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes in Scotland, the national listing of significance. The restaurant 'Chez Roux ' is run by Albert Roux.

An elegant house and garden, and well worth a visit, to stay, eat or just wander round.

I hope everyone is having a good Sunday.
