Chinese Christmas
After checking out of the hotel on Christmas morning, The Gander and I headed out with our friends. We've become close friends with 3 other couples in the program and often spend our weekends at their apartments, as two of them live in the same complex.
We failed to take that many pictures on actual Christmas Day, but here's a pic of the group chowing down on spicy green beans and rice from a nearby Sichuan restaurant, a place all of us have come to absolutely love. This was a midday snack- dinner was cooked later by everyone and included a carb-heavy menu with mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, garlic potatoes, stuffing, corn, rolls and spaghetti. Mmm!
We also did a white elephant style gift exchange and The Gander and I got some dvds and candy.
One of the other highlights of the evening was getting dressed up in holiday garb and going caroling down the streets, stopping at several shops and restaurants. We sang Jingle Bells in Chinese again and got some hilarious looks, laughter and applause.
We hope everyone else had a wonderful time this holiday season!
