Lord of the Isles (2014.122)
This is the steam engine Lord of the Isles. Built some time during 1949. this 2-6-0 locomotive (2 wheels at the front, 6 driving wheels, none at the back) saw service across the country before being restored in 1970, whereupon it was painted as an LNER (London and North Eastern Railway) engine.
Subsequently the 66 ton loco, with its 50mph top speed, has found a career running betwen Fort William and Edinburgh.
It is shot here crossing the Longstone viaduct, approaching Slateford Junction.
