Alien Species
As I walked through the woods beside a local park, I couldn't help but notice a number of alien species taking over the woodland.
There are of course the ubiquitous rhododendron bushes but at least the local council (or someone) had a go at removing some of them a few years back.
Most obvious just now are the carpets of blue, pink and white bluebells that owe their variation to the influx of the Spanish variety.
There was also a large patch of some tall yellow daisies that I can't identify.
Finally, I come to my blip for this evening: The flowering currant (Ribes sanguineum) that is native to the north-west USA and was/is grown here as a garden ornamental.
