Seraphim

On the ceiling of the church in Bursa is a large picture of Jesus, and surrounding Him six seraphim (of which two remain). They appear in the Bible in Isaiah ch6. In that chapter they cover their eyes with two of their wings to emphasise the holiness of the Lord. They have been painted with their eyes uncovered. This, I imagine, is to show how the cross has bridged the gap between sinful men and women and a holy God. This verse touches on the privilege we have as believers in the Lord Jesus: "And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." 2 Corinthians 3:18
