Surprise!!!

Dapo started complaining about an earache last week Saturday so took him to the pediatrician who then referred us to an ENT specialist. The referral already raised red flags. He did have an infection and after a second visit, the specialist said it had gotten worse and to come back today.

I was not prepared for what happened - first he had to drain his ear of wax, then he pulled out #1. I was in shock - he said it was a collection of wax and dead skin build up and not anything we did or didn't do. He continued to clean his ear, then said - he has a piece of metal in his ear and did Dapo know anything about it. Dapo of course said no. The doctor then proceeded to do more suctioning and probing with Dapo writhing in pain the whole time while trying to keep still.

Just as he practically fell out of the chair in pain, the doctor pulled out #2 - a bead! OMG!!! I couldn't believe it and the size of it. Praise God, there was no damage to his ear drum and membrane. No way to know how long it's been in there.

Although the initial diagnosis of an ear infection was sad, in turned out to be a blessing otherwise we won't have gone to the specialist and the bead could have been in his ear for even longer undetected.

~And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them - Romans 28:8.
