Eating out amongst history

Today we decided to visit the Jewish Ghetto so rode around to the stationvia the vaporetto, and walked the length of the Cannaregio district.

We then decided to go on an elongated walk back to San Marco. It was a public holiday today so everywhere was very busy. Discovered some fascinating places by just wandering the streets, and then arrived at the Arsenale. Great place to stop for a lunch with a view of the old castellated walls of the ancient shipbuilding area.

On reaching San Marco it was heaving, and it was a nightmare walking back to the hotel - streets absolutely packed with people on a boiling hot day. Glad to reach the district around our hotel where few tourists stay, and the streets are quiet!

Lovely farewell dinner this evening - sad to be leaving this lovely city - hopefully may return yet again! There is always more to see.
