Little Fluffy Clouds

Awoke to the merest hint of a frost and a clear blue sky - so up & out was the order of the day - after recent walks through the drizzle we decided to strike whilst the weather was good.
Up to Sunbiggin Tarn and out on to the moor - the wind was sharp - but the sun was already heating things up nicely. I did have another blip of the swan chasing a goose away from it's nest - but the blurry action shot lost out to this fantastic panorama. The verdant field across the tarn was eye catching in the sun - the farmers have been re-sowing the pasture in the fields around here recently - I don't know if this field was one of them - but it certainly is striking to look at.
From the tarn we would previously have walked up to the hangman's tree at the crossroads on the top of Asby Common - but over this winter of storm-force winds it has finally succumbed and there is now but a stump left - the hill top looks empty without it. Turning to return we decided to walk on the moorland path rather than the lane - we're now entering prime Coast to Coast season and by 9am the cyclists were out in force - by the time we got back to the car the first of the walkers had also appeared - looks like they've got a lovely Bank Holiday coming :)
