What are the chances...
For the first time in ages I feel I've achieved quite a lot today.
Once Alan was off to school, kitchen was tidied in jig time, dishwasher emptied and reloaded and washing on. Painters arrived and yes I have heard all the jokes about having the painters in :p and carried on getting the chimneys and high bits of the house painted. I can't watch them when they're up there. My heart's in my mouth the whole time.
Left them to it and headed down to my childhood village to take the final photos for the charity calendar I've been asked too provide the photos for. I had thought I'd already taken the final shots at the start of the month but after seeing my shot of the Church, there were requests for photos of the Chapel too. Fair enough but the Chapel isn't easy to get close to to take a photo as it's elevated and I don't have the right lens to capture it at close range.
Anyhoo, decided to take it from the street at the other side of the park and this let me get the hills in as well. I've had a bit of a faff with the shot and not sure I like it but it was dull and the light wasn't great that's my excuse anyway :-))
As far as I know the local community should have chosen the shots they want in the calendar by early next week and it should be with the printers by the end of the week.
Gulp! I am so nervous about it as most of the shots were just ones of the village I'd taken in passing, not really intending them to be printed but hey ho. If it raises even 50p towards their community Christmas tree I'll be happy. And guess what all my rellies will be getting in their Christmas stockings this Christmas? ;-)))
I'd just finished taking the photos and got back in the car when a car pulled up in front of me and a man got out. Turned out to be David's best pal (my best pal Agnes' hubby) Adrian. He's a taxi driver in the next town and had just arrived to pick up a fair. It took us both a minute to realise it was us (if you know what I mean) I was wondering why this guy was staring intently at me and he was wondering why I was staring intently at him, till the penny finally dropped. Isn't it funny how it takes a minute to comprehend what you're seeing when the context is all wrong?! :))
So, Friday at last. Steak, chips and salad for tea then feet up and some telly. That's the plan anyway. I suspect within 5 mins of the telly going on there will be Zzzzzzzz from me.
Have a great holiday weekend Peeps :))
