South Pond, Midhurst

This pond is only a few steps away from the centre of Midhurst, on the edge of the old part of town. We walk past it each time we go into town. It's lovely at the moment in spite of all the construction work that has been going on around it. In today's local newspaper, it says that the life belts (you can just see two red spots on the pic) are so often vandalised that the council is considering not replacing them. What a shame. The pond is calm and not that deep, but even so, accidents happen, and a little child could easily be in trouble.
