Grater
Back in That London again, hangin' wid ma Cityboy homies, nattering about new electronic exchanges for complex OTC equity derivatives, as one does.
Arrived a bit early and thought I'd stroll over to check out the Cheesgrater at 122 Leadenhall, as I've not been in these parts since before Christmas, and last took a photo of it in August. It looks like the external work may be almost complete now -- all the external construction cranes and elevators have gone, all the glazing is in, and today workers were reinstating the footpath/pavement opposite Lloyds. It's a pretty muscular bit of architecture, but I think it is rather beautiful.
This is the view from Bishopsgate, much the same as this one from over a year ago, but fisheye wide. The cranes in this shot are (not very) busy working on the core of The Pinnacle -- construction of The Pinnacle has been seriously delayed. But once that addition to the City skyline is finished, this view of the Cheesgrater will be obscured forever.
