The New Recruit

Don't normally blip this early but I've decided to get it out of the way today. That way I can either put the camera down or pick it up without blip on my mind.

Got a lot to do.

There's a vacant piece of land next to where the bus comes to pick up fancy pants for kindergarten. Took a jar with me and collected an adult ladybird and six or seven larvae. The larvae are good because they eat a lot of aphids and don't fly away. So here is one of the new recruits, the adult, who has been set to work on my broad beans.

The internets tell me that the adult can eat up to as many as a 1000 aphids in a day and the larvae about 500!
