Don't knock it until you've tried it

There were some complaints lodged about yesterday's lack of baby felines, so I phoned the local pet shop. Yes, they had three kittens for sale, and yes I could come and photograph them. Sorted, I thought. Easy peasy.

What I hadn't realised is that kittens don't stay still for even a nanosecond. All my best wheedling and cajoling, which normally stands me in good stead with subjects, was completely wasted on the kittens. Some 87 shots later I staggered out with not much more to show for it than badly scratched ankles and kitten wee on my jeans.

So I stand humbled and corrected - fluffy kittens are absolutely the hardest things I've tried to photograph. So far.
