And today watched over

The commemoration of late socialist leaders
And renewed commitment
To continue fighting the good fight
For workers' rights
Worldwide.

Happy May Day and International Workers' Rights Day all! In London to see one of my oldest friends, over from Zimbabwe for a short visit. We were driven to sit in cafes and galleries by the incessant rain but it was great to catch up with her and also see her daughter, who is now older than Mez, JinglyJan and I were when we met on our first day at university. Pleased to catch a bit of the May Day rally in Trafalgar Square just as my old colleague and now the TUC's first female general secretary, Frances O'Grady, addressed the crowd.
