The Cathedral and Abbey Church of Saint Alban

I had a very enjoyable day in St Albans. A bit of a damp day but as I was in the Cathedral for a few hours I missed most of the rain. I had a guided tour of the Cathedral & also had plenty of time to explore further & take some photos. The photo shown here illustrates the extensive use of recycled materials in the building of the Cathedral. The bricks and a good deal of the other materials used are from the ruined roman buildings in the area. Spent some time walking around the town in the afternoon including a visit to St Albans Museum. Went to evening prayers in the Cathedral at 5pm. A bit of a shame that there was no choir today.
