Eventful day

I'm sure it's been an eventful day for everyone but maybe a wee bit more so for us than most people.

Firstly it's Roz's birthday today so we're celebrating that in addition to Christmas. If anyone's thinking of Rushing out to get Robert Smith Birthday cards I'm afraid it's a home made job involving downloading a low res image from a google image search then spending a not insignificant amount of time drawing a vector version in Illustrator.

After the two sets of presents, Christmas and Birthday i made breakfast then a brief break before starting Christmas dinner for seven. Admittedly even though it's her birthday Roz was in charge of that as she's far more co-ordinated at that sort of thing than me.

After Christmas dinner we were all set for a relaxing evening's drinking. Unfortunately my step-sister Mairi had promised she'd go out sledging with Maddy. They'd only been out for about ten minutes when Mads came back saying Mairi needed help as she'd crashed the sledge.

Mads understated things a bit Mairi had gone straight into a fence at a silly speed and couldn't stand up herself. Several of us went round to help. One of our neighbours was there too so he and I managed to help her up and get her round to a car to whisk her back to ours. She's in a fair bit of pain at the side of her right knee but is convinced nothing is broken. She's rested up on the couch now after having some strong co-codamol but is adamant she's not going to hospital on Christmas day so we've got some ice on it and we'll see how she is tomorrow.
