First of may treat
Outside the bedroom window a very old lilac tree is getting it's buds for the flowers to come in June (I guess-- things are off schedule this year). And one of my very most beloved events is happening once again. The American Goldfinches arrive in numbers and sit in the lilac tree like ornaments, singing to their drab mates.
A pait of Titmice have also appeared. He sings encouragement to his mate to come to the feeder for a snack. Darling pair.
Two bright red cardinals have also wrestled among the lilac's branches for territory.
We have had two days of rain and the birds are glad to return to gobble up the sunflower seeds! It is still rather drab outside and dark for a blip in the early morning 'light'.
Very happy to see this lovely finch.
