Christmas butterfly

On christmas eve morning there was a small tortoiseshell butterfly (Aglais urticae) in my parents house. It had probably been in the cellar. It couldn't have survived outdoors during winter nor stayed unnoticed such a long time since summer elsewhere in the house.

I and my fiancee took a 60 km car ride to Kuopio to my fiancee's parents. On our way we visited the cemetery of Varpaisjärvi (the village my parents live in) to light up a candle on the grave of my father's mother. It's a common habit in Finland to light a candle on the grave of your dead relatives and acquaintances on christmas eve.
