The Last Viking

The Last Viking stands at the waterside in Trondheim, near the old fish market.

The statue is by Nils Aas, and made me think of both the Viking culture and the more recent fishing culture in this part of Norway.

I'm stopping off in Trondheim to catch up with friend from my student days in Bristol, before I get a train north to Bodo. The skies may look clear in this picture, but the temperature was close to freezing, and it has been trying hard to snow.
