The Motatapu River
River I hear you say were, well it's in those willows, the day started out quite strange for us B had gone to nip out for a little while, longer than I thought he would be, on his return we decided to go the Motatpa River ( as the locals call it ) B was going fishing as the season closes soon.
So lunch made leaving much later than what I would have liked Sam in tow, a short drive arrived parked the 4WD B put on his fishing gear, and discovered that he left his rod behind, so we went for a walk instead, over the farm land and dropped down to the river, now I don't mind crossing rivers but in Autumn that water is freezing, well very cold, we made 4 crossing during the morning, and came home the quick way and had one crossing, we had seen 6 Brown trout.
We also had the company of 2 helicopters they were mustering the Deer off the mountains bringing them down to the flats so thy can feed them through the winter, it was interesting to watch, deer farming here is quite big
