Heading for Home

Standing on the edge of the lake in the quiet of the morning, the mist gently rising and the sunlight filtering through and bouncing off the water was just magical.

Watching one of my grebes of yesterday preening and feeding I suddenly got the surprise of my life when only 10 feet away this otter surfaced swimming towards the bank with his mouth full of what could be nesting material. Oblivious for a few seconds of my presence, then with a quick dive he headed into the reeds.

Champagne trip over and heading for home with the car just a few cases heavier than when we set off! :))
