No, Not a bird or a butterfly, although don't think I wasn't tempted by the Whinchat and the Stonechat. As well as the Whinchat, I got a couple of other year ticks, in the form of a Mandarin Duck and a Cuckoo. I did my usual Early Bird routine before going to meet up with my fellow enthusiasts to do our fortnightly fungi survey at NT Longshaw. The star of the show for me was this Eyelash Fungus (Scutelinia Sp) growing on a small pine cone. We found a lot more little mushrooms today - we are getting into the Spring fungi season.
