Shades of green

I have to take advantage of these few weeks of the year when the landscape is brilliantly green, so no apologies for another vine shot. I don't have to go far from home to find these. I love all the shades here; since our neighbour Magali started grazing sheep on the mountain about five years ago, the dark green of scrubby Aleppo pines has been replaced by the paler green of pasture on the lower slopes. And at this time of year you can still see the lines of vines, before the untidy canopy of leaves swamps them.

To the market in Lézignan this morning, for the first time in two months. What a treat! I bought cherries, strawberries, raspberries, small artichokes. At the fishmonger S bought tellines (tiny clams like the ones we ate so often in Riumar). We were shocked at the price -- 10 euros for half a kilo! We'll eat them simply sauteed with olive oil, garlic, and parsley this evening.
