Matching Pair

They were so far away I didn't know what I was shooting, but I knew whatever I had, it was a female and a male together and I was excited.

They turned out to be relatively common House Finches. But they are very pretty. I don't care how common a bird is if it is pretty or has an interesting sound or song!

Of course, all the chatter in the neighborhood was that there were owls in that Joshua tree. If there were, it was a secret to me. Mom said there was a slew of folks out there in the morning taking pictures. I'm not sure about that.

It looked to me like this pair was building a nest in that tree. Co-habitate with owls? Not likely in my book. But then again, what I know about owls I can put in a thimble.
