lily of the valley

Drove to Marseille and back today to pick up our muguet - or Lily of the Valley in English. We've got little pots, some fancy bouquets, and then just some little 'good luck' stems of the stuff as well.

It's all for le 1er mai, or la Fête du Travail, a day on which every worker in France gets a paid holiday, and also a day that everyone gives each other Lily of the Valley as a good luck charm for the year to come. So, this Thursday - the 1st of May - we're going to be setting up a little stall of the stuff on the roadside between Nyons and Aubres. Fingers crossed!
