It went that way ...

Very early start today to do an airport run, so left the house at 4.30 a.m. for a trek across South London and down to Gatwick. What joy driving at that time of the day, with very little other traffic on the roads. It was a different story coming back though, with traffic coagulating to a crawl on the other carriageway as I whizzed back along the Surrey section of the M25.

Home by 6.30 and then some reading to do before a telephone interview at 9 a.m. It was about a new V8 diesel-engined sports car with a stainless steel chassis and a name taken from the ancient East Anglian tribe led by Boudicca, the Iceni. I should have been viewing it at a launch event in London today, but the tube strike scuppered those plans, forcing the organisers to cancel.

The car, made by Norwich-based Trident, runs on biodiesel and is supposed to have a phenomenal range. A 2,000-plus miles economy drive is being planned for next month to prove it. Will it manage the trip on one tankful? I'm dubious, but no doubt we'll hear all about it if it does.
