'The Midas Touch'

The sun came out this evening and my garden looked as if it had been touched by Midas. Though this Rose 'Maigold' is on a North facing wall, it still had a warmth to it that I couldn't resist.

Midas is the name of at least three members of the Royal house of Phrygia. The most famous King Midas is popularly remembered in Greek mythology for his ability to turn everything he touched with his hand into gold.
