Waves coming in to the Thurso shore in the early morning, with Dunnet head (centre) and Orkney (left) in the hazy distance (more obvious in the large version).

This was the view a couple of paces from my tent. I enjoyed listening to those waves rolling in all night. I didn't enjoy the chill though. That cloudless sky meant there was a touch of frost before sunrise. Didn't put off the surfers. They were out before then!

A glorious Easter Sunday. Headed back for home (via my folks house) in the afternoon. Lots to sort out. And hundreds of photos to edit. The camera used here, a Fuji, tends to render blues in a slightly more cyan shade than reality. It's not unattractive, but I'd rather it was closer to reality. Will look into taking corrective measures, sometime...

(Edit: As requested, a link to a slideshow of the colossal number of photos taken this weekend follows. Only have a look if you're REALLY bored! And I did filter through them. The intended audience was those that were there, and taking part - good feedback so far.

A tip for seeing the biggest versions, that works with many browsers, press the F11 key to switch to "full-screen" - press it again later, to 'toggle' back to normal (the ESC key should also take you back).

A cup of coffee, or glass of beer,  may be advisable if you're considering the challenge! It all started here... )
