Industrial archeology

Today I joined a group up at the iron mine to do some clearing out before the organised walk on the occasion of the forthcoming 40th anniversary of the Club de l'Amitié. It is a good climb up there but of course the miners had to do it twice a day every day. We worked all morning digging out the rocks and debris at the mine entrance and succeeded in unearthing part of the winding gear. We then went down for the inevitable aperitifs and a hearty picnic.
