Easter Suday:

Waked to a promising day so made a flash decision to change from winter clothing (Dark Brown or Maroon) to my summer outfits (Cream and Coral) just to celebrate Easter.

Went off to church to celebrate my Easter communion and take part in our usual custom. We have a wooden cross covered with wire netting and as you go up to the altar rail you take some daffodils from the baskets and thread them through the netting. We call it "Thatching the Cross" After the service the cross is carried down the road and placed on the village green for a day or two.

There was a change for me this year. Circumstances mean that I now have difficulty in walking up to the communion rail so arrangements have been made for the vicar and the minster of the sacraments to come down to my pew. Ah well, Anno Domini".
