One Elbow Down

And relax

I was woken by a rather hysterical D this morning. Her taxi hadn't arrived because of the snow and she now only had 30 minutes to get to the Station. This is usually more than enough but the roads can only be described as chaos (thanks Edinburgh Council).

I went from being fast asleep to driving on snow/ice/slush in under ten minutes, which certainly gets the adrenalin pumping. We also did our Christmas good deed by giving an abandoned stranger a lift to the station. D made her train with a minute to spare and I crawled back through the city cursing all council works.

I've just heard that she's arrived safely in Thurso. My little sister is due any minute, after a long boat/train journey from Belfast. The flat is tidy, presents are wrapped and I'm starting to unwind from work. It'll be a take-away for tea tonight and then a relaxed journey home to my folks in the Scottish Borders tomorrow afternoon.

It finally feels like the Christmas has arrived. Hopefully, I'll mange to blip over the next couple of days but if I don't - Merry Christmas to all of you!
