Three Sundays From Now

We have to make a very early start on May 18, as we'll be catching a train at 6 a.m. to travel from Bruges to Béziers in the south of France. After picking up our rental car, we'll relish the scenic drive to Olargues, the Languedoc village on the Jaur River, where the rocks above came from, that we instantly fell in love with on our first visit fourteen years ago.

Five more visits, all in concert with trips to Wales to visit Phil's family, did not diminish our love. We thought that our 2011 visit would be our last, but with Olargues just a day's journey by train from Bruges (645 miles /1038 kilometers), a seventh visit seemed like a good number to finish on.

Being blippers had a lot to do with that decision, as in addition to our non-blipping friends in Olargues, we will be getting together with 5000vines and BrodieB, LoJardinier, and Veronica! We met the first two on our 2008 trip, when we stayed at their wonderful B&B, Le Couvent, and when we arrived at the gate of their B&B again in 2011, Lizzie said "I've joined Blipfoto!" That was the tipping point for me, and I've never regretted signing up shortly afterward.

Once I'd joined Blipfoto, I backblipped a few days from that 2011 visit, starting here. The September 15 backblip describes our lunch with LoJardinier and Chaiselongue. This Flickr stream includes more photos of Olargues and Le Couvent.

We'll be remembering Chaiselongue as we return to her village and visit with LoJardinier, as well as relishing an evening with 5000vines and BrodieB, and getting to know Veronica and her husband over a long lunch.

Oh -- and that book in today's blip? Yes, it's photos from our 2008 trip, because I still haven't done one for our 2011 trip. Since we're staying in the same delightful studio apartment above an art studio in Olagues as we did in 2008 and 2011, here's a peek at it from the pages of that book. It's a perfect holiday home!
