Ten Counties and Weatherfield
Managed to drag my creaking joints out of bed and over the Pennines to sunny Manchester for a tour of Granada Studios. Yes it was blue skies on this side of the hill.
The building overshadowing the famous street is the 47-storey Beetham Tower. Completed in 2006, at 168 metres it's the tallest skyscraper in Manchester, the ninth tallest building in the United Kingdom and the tallest building outside London.
The structure is one of the thinnest skyscrapers in the world with a height to width ratio of 12:1.
The skyscraper is visible from ten English counties and Weatherfield on a clear day.
