Back in time

Family holidays
With sisters, mum & dad
Were endured
By a grumpy adolescent
Desperate to be elsewhere.

Half a century later
It looks much the same
And he views it
With nostalgia
And fresh appreciation.

Broadstairs on a sudden whim today was a delight, with Mediterranean skies and splashes of warmth. It was Tom's family annual holiday for a few years and his sisters say he was as miserable as sin at having to be there with them ... whereas now, he treasures time with them (as do I, thankfully). There's nothing better to lift the spirits than a British seaside town on a lovely day.
