Queen's Cross
Another day dawns cloudy and cool. After a coffee at Milton of Crathes we made a trip to Stonehaven, hoping to find a little sunshine. We were disappointed as it was threatening to rain, though no more than a drop or two of rain actually landed.
Lots of activity in the harbour, a group of canoeists, equipped with kayaks were in the shallow part of the harbour being taught to manoeuvre and recover from capsizing. In another nearby area of the harbour another group with sailing dinghies were also being taught about capsizing. To me it did not seem like the weather for capsizing, especially not voluntarily
The water looked cold, even the air was cold. We retired to the Ship Inn, it seems a popular choice judging by the number of people inside, and took a chance to warm up before the rigours of the drive back to Aberdeen. In the northern part of the city we saw a large cloud of black smoke spreading across the sky. Consulting the internet later we found there was a large fire at a Day Centre in the Mastrick area of the city. No casualties as far as I am aware.
