Costa del Sol
From the Costa del Putney to the Costa del Sol today.
This is a total shock to our systems. We normally head north for our holidays, particularly in the warmer seasons, but today we have headed down south for a few days 'chilling'(sic) out on the Med. Of course, we hired a car and headed straight for the hills, coming dangerously close to the fleshpots of Torremolinos and Marbella. But truthfully, the beaches all look very pleasant at the moment, but largely because the season is early and there are just a handful of planeloads of Brits piling in every day. Up in the wooded hills of the Sierra de la Nieve it is still very warm with very hot sun, but we hope to be able to have some nice walks. We are staying in the charming Refugio del Juanar just above Ojen, which is the chalky triangular shaped perched village in the hills on the bottom right of this picture. Gibraltar is just visible in the background and the coastal hills of Morocco are just visible in the very distant murk and off-shot to the left.
