at home with an Ivysaurus

Baby cage fighting

Not sure who won - referee (Euan) had to intervene after there was some dirty face poking tactics.

Ivy's teeth are on the move again - she spent alot of the early hours screaming. Gave her a natural licorice stick to chew on in the morning and she cheered up a bit. We went down the allotment and riddled enough bed for putting carrots and parsnips in. Don and Elena dropped down a travel cot for keeping ivy out the way. She did really well in a cot playing herself for a while, till she wanted to get out an explore. She found a puddle of mud to play in in the polytunnel (according to Euan her bath water tonight was filthy), was determined to play with gorse and had her first encounter with a snail. I put it on her foot so she could feel it's slimyness and watch it move about. She watched it for a while before crushing it. I was very proud. :)

Harvested some three radishes from Polly bed - they maybe could have staTed in longer but I wanted them before the pests got them. Had them for lunch with garden salad, tuna and boiled eggs. Ivy fed herself some egg and liked it, she's previously rejected it boiled and mashed. She also chewed her way through several wedges of Melon. Euan's excited at having someone to share Melon with - I don't like it.

We also brought home some purple sprouting broccoli from communal bed to have with our tea. The cooking water went a lovely colour.

Excited for tomorrow, we can go to rhyme time again ( it's been off for holidays)
