Engagement

The photo is of four glass mats purchased from the Aysgarth Falls craft shop. I bought them as an engagement present for my daughter, H and her partner, M who announced yesterday that, after a three-year romance, they are to get engaged.

I have known this for a week but I've been sworn to silence whilst H told everyone herself. I knew this was going to happen some weeks ago as M had approached me to ask what I thought of him asking H to marry her. M is a New Zealander and a really great guy and of course I encouraged him in this. For a long time I did not think that my daughter would get married as she had never shown interest. But life is full of surprises and non more wonderful than this. I like the mats and particularly purchased the one with two hearts on it to represent H and M.

That's my news for this week.

I am off to Dublin for three days tomorrow and hope if I get Wi-Fi to be able to blip.
