Loch of the Lowes

Yes!! I managed to get out today for the first time in ages. We drove to the Arts & Crafts Fair at Dunkeld and enjoyed looking at the work of many skilled craftspeople. I even treated myself to a pretty silk scarf:-)

On the return journey we stopped off at the Loch of the Lowes to say hello to the resident osprey Lady, who is now incubating three eggs. Hope some of them manage to hatch again this year. The photo shows the tree with the huge nest in it - it's just below the top of the tall tree on the right. I only had my compact camera with me, so couldn't get a closer shot today, but she was definitely in there, as we saw her on the camcorder pictures!

Also watched the antics of the small birds at the feeders, including lots of finches and siskins, as well as a visit from a female woodpecker. No red squirrels today, but they'll be back.

What a treat to get out and about, although my legs were pretty shaky by the end of it:-) Onward and upward!
