Early Bird!
I am more of an owl than a lark, so getting up at 5am to go on a bird call identification walk in Cut Wood, was something of a miracle.
Yet partly thanks to Arthur's presence, and a determination not to miss a learning opportunity, I had a very early breakfast, and was down at the woods for a 7am start.
DB who led the walk said he had been listening to bird calls since the age of 14, and it was 40 years since he first started.
I am pretty good on basic garden birds, robin, chaffinch, blue tit, wood pigeon and blackbird, but we must have identified about 30 different birds this morning.
It was very cold .
Have a great Sunday.
