People who Care
We had a very early start as we were leaving Torquay to travel to Cardiff before driving on home to Brighton. I was therefore saying good-bye to the beach at 7 a.m. when I spotted a black backed gull in obvious distress with what appeared to be a broken wing. I managed to encourage him on to the beach and then phoned the RSPCA. I received a call later to say that his wing was not broken but had merely become trapped. However, he was very thin from not eating enough so they took him in to build him up. What an amazing level of care!
In the evening I was at a cocktail party in Cardiff at my mother's nursing home. One of the staff had raised money for Marie Curie to thank them for the care they had given his wife before she died from cancer. He had run a marathon in Las Vegas and all the staff, residents and local community had supported him. It was a very different cocktail party to ones we would normally attend but was most probably a lot nicer. It was lovely seeing how proud everyone was and the real enjoyment they experienced singing along with the invited entertainer. Another example of real care. This therefore had to be today's Blip.
