Snake peek

Maybe not everybody's favourite sign of spring, but in Wood Buffalo National Park, the red sided garter snakes are rousing themselves from the most northern hibernaculum in North America. They survive the long winter in the warmth of the karst sinkholes that define this area and disperse quickly in the spring to breed.
