WellDone The Sons
Today Dumbarton really did well to beat the top of the Championsip with a great score of 4 - 1. What a game with cracking goals from the Sons.
We thought that Hamilton Accies were going to win when they equalised with an offside goal and the Ref and linesmen seemed to give all the decisions against us. However the Sons had other ideas and , despite Accies powering away and for the first part of the second half gaining most of the possession and denied goals by Jamie Ewings who pulled off some magnificent saves, we came back and finished in magnificent form to get 3 more goals in a spell of 10 minutes.
The top photo shows Scott Agnew's goal , a beautifully turned free kick which flew directly into the far corner of the net !
Bottom left shows the determination of the two best players today , Jason Scotland for the Accies in red / white and Andy Graham in white / gold/ black for the Sons. This pair fought strongly throughout the game controlling the flow of play with great skill. Early on they had a severe clash of heads when they both went for a high ball. It was really scary as Jason Scotland was down for quite some time , deathly still while Andy recovered a bit quicker. Both survived that then And took another knock to the head later in the game , looked quite groggy and we thought he was going to go off injured. Not our Andy , he's made of sterner stuff ( a real Son of the Rock ). He played to the end and was awarded Man of theMatch.
Bottom right shows our keeper showing a safe pair of hands with one of his early saves.
Next week it's off to Dundee for a real crunch match as they are vying with Hamilton and Falkirk for the championship title ; all resting on that last game.
